PARENT INVOLVEMENT

Parents, Families and Friends Association

The Parents and Friends Association at Taylors Lakes Secondary College provides parents with a voice and an ongoing forum for the discussion and development of parent views, by considering and representing parents' interests and concerns, on the wide range of issues relating to their children's education and welfare.

This body provides an opportunity for all parents and friends to take an active interest in the college. It meets at 9.00am on the last Friday of the month at the College. The Parents and Friends Association is managed by a very strong and active committee.

The Association holds functions designed to:

  • strengthen parent-teacher relationships

  • give parents an opportunity to obtain a fuller understanding of the aims of the College

  • engage parents actively in the College’s development

  • provide a range of interesting and relevant guest speakers

  • develop fundraising opportunities for the College

One of the Parents and Friends Association's goals is to encourage the College’s families and community to become a more active resource in supporting the College educating our children. With over 1400 students attending Taylors Lakes Secondary College, there is an enormous pool of resources that the parents have to offer the College. Working bees organised by the group enable parents and friends to make a practical and valuable contribution to the school. Every contribution adds up to make a big difference to the College.

You are invited to join the Parents and Friends Association and become an active member of your College community. For further details or to be added to the email distribution list, please contact our Assistant Principal, who leads the group at taylors.lakes.sc@education.vic.gov.au.
