Библиотека је живахан, инклузиван и кључан део заједнице учења на средњем колеџу Таилорс Лакес. Наша визија је да негујемо сталну љубав према читању, да обезбедимо атрактиван простор који је безбедан, негује и дочекује и да промовишемо стимулативно окружење које подржава учење. Наша богата библиотека нуди широки спектар штампаних и дигиталних извора који подржавају циљеве учења и поучавања наше школе и редовно угошћује догађаје и библиотечке активности.
Наше особље посвећено је промовисању дигиталне писмености и оснаживању ученика да постану креативни, знатижељни и критични ученици и мислиоци 21. века. Осим што се налази у центру, наша библиотека је срце школе.
Инфинити каталог пружа студентима и особљу могућност претраживања књига на мрежи, као и приступ курираној збирци образовних веб страница и е -књига Вхеелерс. Наша опсежна збирка која садржи фантастичне романе, белетристику, брзо читање и графичке романе погодна је за низ нивоа читања и интересовања. Период позајмице је три недеље, мада се кредити могу продужити ако је потребно.
ЦлицкВиев на мрежи омогућава наставницима и ученицима приступ образовном видео садржају који је креиран и усклађен са наставним планом и програмом за млађе и старије, као и програмима који долазе са кабловске и бесплатне телевизије. НевсБанк је мрежна база вести која нуди архиву вести, као и приступ актуелним издањима Аге и Хералд-Сун.
Библиотека нуди разне услуге, попут ламинирања, повезивања, штампања и употребе рачунара. Особљу и студентима нудимо широку палету мултимедијске опреме која укључује дигиталне видео и фотоапарате, стативе, микрофоне, адаптере и још много тога.
Наша библиотека такође нуди низ ваннаставних активности, укључујући Клуб домаћих задатака за ученике млађих разреда сваке среде после школе и студенте сваког четвртка, као и недељни Клуб књига. Клуб књига, који је 2010. основала гђа Еарл, Боок Цлуб настоји подијелити заједничку љубав према причама и свијету књига, славећи многе угодне активности, као и упознавајући ауторе и приповједаче у нашим редовним посјетама Фестивалу писаца у Мелбоурну и Конференцији Реадинг Маттерс на Државна библиотека Викторије.

Организујемо разне посете аутора и посебне догађаје током године, укључујући прославу Ноћи вештица, активности Недеље књиге и интервјуе са родитељима.
The library is a vibrant, inclusive, and crucial part of the learning community at Taylors Lakes Secondary College. Our vision is to foster an ongoing love of reading, to provide an attractive space that it is safe, nurturing, and welcoming, and to promote a stimulating environment that is supportive of learning. Our busy library provides an extensive range of print and digital resources that supports the learning and teaching goals of our school and regularly hosts events and library related activities.
The start of 2023 was an extra exciting time for the library team and school community with the unveiling of an impressive and innovative upgrade to the library facilities. The newly refurbished learning space better fosters creativity, collaboration, and wellbeing. Our library is unique and students who pass through our doors reap the many benefits of having such a modern and attractive library. The renovation completely transformed the school library into a new and collaborative learning space that students and staff connect with and are excited by.
Our staff are dedicated to promoting digital literacy and to empowering students to become creative, curious, and critical 21st century learners and thinkers. As well as being centrally located, we see our library as being the heart of the school.
The Infiniti catalogue provides students and staff with the ability to search for books online as well as access to a curated collection of educational websites and Wheelers eBooks. Our extensive collection comprising of fiction novels, non-fiction, quick reads, and graphic novels is suitable for a range of reading levels and interests. The loan period is three weeks, although loans can be extended if required.
ClickView online enables teachers and students to access educational video content that has been created and aligned to the junior and senior curriculum as well as programs sourced from cable and free to air television. Students have access to the digital version of the Age newspaper through Compass. The Age newspaper provides daily issues as well as four months of previous editions.
The library offers a variety of services such as such as laminating, binding, printing, and computer use. We provide staff and students with a wide variety of multimedia equipment which include digital video and still cameras, tripods, microphones, adaptors and much more.
Our library also provides a range of extracurricular activities including Homework Club for junior students every Wednesday after school and senior students every Thursday.
We provide a fun and successful Victorian Premiers Reading Challenge programme every year where students can participate in competitions and attend a special ceremonial lunch to celebrate those students that have successfully completed the Challenge. We host a variety of author visits and special events over the course of the year including a Halloween celebration, Book Week activities and Parent-Teacher interviews.
On top of our recent upgrade, our library is accessible to all students throughout the school day. We are open before school from 8:00am, at recess and lunchtimes, as well as after school to 4:30pm Monday through to Thursday and to 4:00pm on Friday. We love providing students and staff with the facilities to learn and grow and welcome everyone into our warm library with open arms.
