Mae'r Llyfrgell yn rhan fywiog, gynhwysol a hanfodol o'r gymuned ddysgu yng Ngholeg Uwchradd Llynnoedd Taylors. Ein gweledigaeth yw meithrin cariad parhaus at ddarllen, darparu gofod deniadol ei fod yn ddiogel, yn ei feithrin ac yn groesawgar ac yn hyrwyddo amgylchedd ysgogol sy'n gefnogol i ddysgu. Mae ein llyfrgell brysur yn darparu ystod eang o adnoddau print a digidol sy'n cefnogi nodau dysgu ac addysgu ein hysgol ac yn cynnal digwyddiadau a gweithgareddau sy'n gysylltiedig â llyfrgelloedd yn rheolaidd.
Mae ein staff yn ymroddedig i hyrwyddo llythrennedd digidol ac i rymuso myfyrwyr i ddod yn ddysgwyr a meddylwyr creadigol, chwilfrydig a beirniadol yr 21ain ganrif. Yn ogystal â bod mewn lleoliad canolog, ein llyfrgell yw calon yr ysgol.
Mae catalog Infiniti yn rhoi'r gallu i fyfyrwyr a staff chwilio am lyfrau ar-lein yn ogystal â mynediad at gasgliad wedi'i guradu o wefannau addysgol ac eLyfrau Wheelers. Mae ein casgliad helaeth sy'n cynnwys nofelau ffuglen, ffeithiol, darlleniadau cyflym a nofelau graffig yn addas ar gyfer ystod o lefelau darllen a diddordebau. Tair wythnos yw cyfnod y benthyciad, er y gellir ymestyn benthyciadau os oes angen.
Mae ClickView ar-lein yn galluogi athrawon a myfyrwyr i gael mynediad at gynnwys fideo addysgol sydd wedi'i greu a'i alinio â'r cwricwlwm iau ac uwch yn ogystal â rhaglenni a gafwyd o gebl ac am ddim i deledu awyr. Cronfa ddata newyddion ar-lein yw NewsBank sy'n darparu archif newyddion yn ogystal â mynediad at rifynnau cyfredol o'r Age a'r Herald-Sun.
Mae'r Llyfrgell yn cynnig amrywiaeth o wasanaethau megis lamineiddio, rhwymo, argraffu a defnyddio cyfrifiadur. Rydym yn darparu amrywiaeth eang o offer amlgyfrwng i staff a myfyrwyr sy'n cynnwys camerâu fideo digidol a llonydd, trybeddau, meicroffonau, addaswyr a llawer mwy.
Mae ein Llyfrgell hefyd yn darparu ystod o weithgareddau allgyrsiol gan gynnwys Clwb Gwaith Cartref i fyfyrwyr iau bob dydd Mercher ar ôl ysgol a myfyrwyr hŷn bob dydd Iau yn ogystal â Chlwb Llyfrau wythnosol. Wedi'i sefydlu yn 2010 gan Ms Earl, mae Clwb Llyfrau yn ceisio rhannu cariad at straeon a byd llyfrau, gan ddathlu llawer o weithgareddau pleserus yn ogystal â chwrdd ag awduron a storïwyr ar ein hymweliadau rheolaidd â Gŵyl Awduron Melbourne a'r Gynhadledd Darllen Materion yn y Llyfrgell Wladwriaeth Victoria.
Rydym yn darparu rhaglen Her Darllen Uwch Gynghrair Fictoraidd hwyliog a llwyddiannus bob blwyddyn lle gall myfyrwyr gymryd rhan mewn cystadlaethau a mynychu cinio seremonïol arbennig i ddathlu'r myfyrwyr hynny sydd wedi cwblhau'r Her yn llwyddiannus. Rydym yn cynnal amrywiaeth o ymweliadau awduron a digwyddiadau arbennig yn ystod y flwyddyn gan gynnwys dathliad Calan Gaeaf, gweithgareddau wythnos Llyfr a chyfweliadau Rhieni ac Athrawon.
The library is a vibrant, inclusive, and crucial part of the learning community at Taylors Lakes Secondary College. Our vision is to foster an ongoing love of reading, to provide an attractive space that it is safe, nurturing, and welcoming, and to promote a stimulating environment that is supportive of learning. Our busy library provides an extensive range of print and digital resources that supports the learning and teaching goals of our school and regularly hosts events and library related activities.
The start of 2023 was an extra exciting time for the library team and school community with the unveiling of an impressive and innovative upgrade to the library facilities. The newly refurbished learning space better fosters creativity, collaboration, and wellbeing. Our library is unique and students who pass through our doors reap the many benefits of having such a modern and attractive library. The renovation completely transformed the school library into a new and collaborative learning space that students and staff connect with and are excited by.
Our staff are dedicated to promoting digital literacy and to empowering students to become creative, curious, and critical 21st century learners and thinkers. As well as being centrally located, we see our library as being the heart of the school.
The Infiniti catalogue provides students and staff with the ability to search for books online as well as access to a curated collection of educational websites and Wheelers eBooks. Our extensive collection comprising of fiction novels, non-fiction, quick reads, and graphic novels is suitable for a range of reading levels and interests. The loan period is three weeks, although loans can be extended if required.
ClickView online enables teachers and students to access educational video content that has been created and aligned to the junior and senior curriculum as well as programs sourced from cable and free to air television. Students have access to the digital version of the Age newspaper through Compass. The Age newspaper provides daily issues as well as four months of previous editions.
The library offers a variety of services such as such as laminating, binding, printing, and computer use. We provide staff and students with a wide variety of multimedia equipment which include digital video and still cameras, tripods, microphones, adaptors and much more.
Our library also provides a range of extracurricular activities including Homework Club for junior students every Wednesday after school and senior students every Thursday.
We provide a fun and successful Victorian Premiers Reading Challenge programme every year where students can participate in competitions and attend a special ceremonial lunch to celebrate those students that have successfully completed the Challenge. We host a variety of author visits and special events over the course of the year including a Halloween celebration, Book Week activities and Parent-Teacher interviews.
On top of our recent upgrade, our library is accessible to all students throughout the school day. We are open before school from 8:00am, at recess and lunchtimes, as well as after school to 4:30pm Monday through to Thursday and to 4:00pm on Friday. We love providing students and staff with the facilities to learn and grow and welcome everyone into our warm library with open arms.
