Maktaba ni sehemu mahiri, inayojumuisha na muhimu ya jamii ya wanaosoma katika Chuo cha Sekondari cha Maziwa ya Taylor. Maono yetu ni kukuza upendo unaoendelea wa kusoma, kutoa nafasi ya kuvutia ambayo ni salama, inaleta na inakaribisha na kukuza mazingira ya kuchochea ambayo yanasaidia kujifunza. Maktaba yetu yenye shughuli nyingi hutoa anuwai ya rasilimali za kuchapisha na za dijiti zinazounga mkono malengo ya kujifunza na kufundisha ya shule yetu na huandaa mara kwa mara hafla na shughuli zinazohusiana na maktaba.
Wafanyikazi wetu wamejitolea kukuza kusoma na kusoma kwa dijiti na kuwawezesha wanafunzi kuwa wabunifu, wadadisi na wakosoaji wa wanafunzi wa karne ya 21 na wanafikra. Pamoja na kuwa katikati, maktaba yetu ndio moyo wa shule.
Katalogi ya Infiniti inapeana wanafunzi na wafanyikazi uwezo wa kutafuta vitabu mkondoni na pia kupata mkusanyiko uliopangwa wa wavuti za kielimu na eBook za Wheelers. Mkusanyiko wetu wa kina unaojumuisha riwaya za uwongo, hadithi zisizo za uwongo, usomaji wa haraka na riwaya za picha zinafaa kwa viwango anuwai vya kusoma na masilahi. Kipindi cha mkopo ni wiki tatu, ingawa mikopo inaweza kupanuliwa ikiwa inahitajika.
ClickView mkondoni inawezesha waalimu na wanafunzi kupata yaliyomo kwenye video ya elimu ambayo imeundwa na iliyokaa na mtaala mdogo na mwandamizi na vile vile vipindi vilivyopatikana kutoka kwa kebo na bure kwa televisheni ya hewani. NewsBank ni hifadhidata ya habari mkondoni ambayo hutoa jalada la habari na pia kupata matoleo ya sasa ya Umri na Herald-Sun.
Maktaba hutoa huduma anuwai kama vile laminating, kumfunga, kuchapa na matumizi ya kompyuta. Tunatoa wafanyikazi na wanafunzi anuwai ya vifaa vya media anuwai ambavyo ni pamoja na video ya dijiti na kamera bado, safari tatu, maikrofoni, adapta na mengi zaidi.
Maktaba yetu pia hutoa shughuli anuwai za nje ya shule pamoja na Klabu ya Kazi ya Nyumbani kwa wanafunzi wadogo kila Jumatano baada ya shule na wanafunzi waandamizi kila Alhamisi na pia Klabu ya Vitabu ya kila wiki. Imara katika 2010 na Bi Earl, Kitabu cha Kitabu kinataka kushiriki mapenzi ya hadithi na ulimwengu wa vitabu, kusherehekea shughuli nyingi za kufurahisha na vile vile kukutana na waandishi na waandishi wa hadithi katika ziara zetu za kawaida kwenye Tamasha la Waandishi wa Melbourne na Mkutano wa Mambo ya Kusoma katika Maktaba ya Jimbo la Victoria.

The library is a vibrant, inclusive, and crucial part of the learning community at Taylors Lakes Secondary College. Our vision is to foster an ongoing love of reading, to provide an attractive space that it is safe, nurturing, and welcoming, and to promote a stimulating environment that is supportive of learning. Our busy library provides an extensive range of print and digital resources that supports the learning and teaching goals of our school and regularly hosts events and library related activities.
The start of 2023 was an extra exciting time for the library team and school community with the unveiling of an impressive and innovative upgrade to the library facilities. The newly refurbished learning space better fosters creativity, collaboration, and wellbeing. Our library is unique and students who pass through our doors reap the many benefits of having such a modern and attractive library. The renovation completely transformed the school library into a new and collaborative learning space that students and staff connect with and are excited by.
Our staff are dedicated to promoting digital literacy and to empowering students to become creative, curious, and critical 21st century learners and thinkers. As well as being centrally located, we see our library as being the heart of the school.
The Infiniti catalogue provides students and staff with the ability to search for books online as well as access to a curated collection of educational websites and Wheelers eBooks. Our extensive collection comprising of fiction novels, non-fiction, quick reads, and graphic novels is suitable for a range of reading levels and interests. The loan period is three weeks, although loans can be extended if required.
ClickView online enables teachers and students to access educational video content that has been created and aligned to the junior and senior curriculum as well as programs sourced from cable and free to air television. Students have access to the digital version of the Age newspaper through Compass. The Age newspaper provides daily issues as well as four months of previous editions.
The library offers a variety of services such as such as laminating, binding, printing, and computer use. We provide staff and students with a wide variety of multimedia equipment which include digital video and still cameras, tripods, microphones, adaptors and much more.
Our library also provides a range of extracurricular activities including Homework Club for junior students every Wednesday after school and senior students every Thursday.
We provide a fun and successful Victorian Premiers Reading Challenge programme every year where students can participate in competitions and attend a special ceremonial lunch to celebrate those students that have successfully completed the Challenge. We host a variety of author visits and special events over the course of the year including a Halloween celebration, Book Week activities and Parent-Teacher interviews.
On top of our recent upgrade, our library is accessible to all students throughout the school day. We are open before school from 8:00am, at recess and lunchtimes, as well as after school to 4:30pm Monday through to Thursday and to 4:00pm on Friday. We love providing students and staff with the facilities to learn and grow and welcome everyone into our warm library with open arms.
